A little preparation goes a long way toward getting the most out of a deep tissue session. The single most helpful thing you can do is talk to me — tell me where you’re tight, what’s been bothering you, and anything about your health I should know. That starts with the intake form, which Florida law requires before your first session. The more I understand your body going in, the more precisely I can work.
On the day, drink plenty of water and give yourself a few quiet minutes before I arrive, so we’re not starting while you’re still wound up. Muscles that are hydrated and warm respond better to deeper work, and a calm start makes the whole session more effective. Since I come to you, all you really need is a clear spot for the table — skip a heavy meal right beforehand and wear something you can relax in.
During the massage, keep talking. Deep tissue should feel like a “good” intensity — productive, never something you have to grit your teeth through. If the pressure’s too much or not enough, just say so; I adjust constantly, and your feedback makes the work better.
Afterward, drink some water and take it easy if you can. It’s normal to feel a little tender the next day, the way you might after a good workout. My goal is simple: a comfortable, unhurried session where you actually get the relief you came in for.
