Privacy Policy
Your health information stays between us. Here's exactly how it's handled — in plain English.
Effective August 31, 2026 · Massage By Mike — Michael Englund, LMT (FL License MA98585), Tarpon Springs, Florida
The Short Version
- Your information is used for one thing: providing and scheduling your massage care.
- It is never sold, rented, or shared with advertisers or data brokers.
- Your intake form and health details are stored on the practice's own private computer — not in a big-tech health database.
- You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask for it to be deleted, anytime.
What We Collect
- Account details — your name, email, and optional phone number. Passwords are stored only as secure one-way hashes.
- Booking details — the service, date, time, location type, and any notes you add.
- Health intake — the intake form you complete before your session, including health history, consent acknowledgements, signatures, and (only if you choose to add one) a photo of an area of concern. Florida law (§480.043, Fla. Stat.) requires licensed massage therapists to keep a treatment record for each client.
- Messages — contact-form messages, gift requests, and payment confirmations you send.
- Text messaging — if you consent to SMS reminders, your phone number and a log of appointment texts sent to you.
- Basic site analytics — self-hosted page-view counts with bot traffic filtered out. No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics, no cross-site cookies.
Where It Lives
Everything above is stored on the practice's own self-hosted server — the therapist's own equipment — not with a third-party data platform. While you're filling out the intake form, a draft also saves in your own browser so you don't lose your progress; that local draft never includes your photo, is removed when you submit, and expires automatically after 14 days.
How It's Used
- Scheduling, confirming, and providing your sessions.
- Appointment emails and — only with your consent — SMS reminders. Reply or email anytime to stop texts.
- Keeping the treatment records Florida law requires.
- Following up on messages, gift requests, and payments you initiate.
Who Sees It
Your therapist. Booking and message notifications are relayed to him through his own private channels so he can respond quickly. To operate, the site also uses a few outside services in a limited way:
- Google Calendar — your appointment (name, service, time) is added to the practice calendar.
- Email delivery — confirmations and reminders are sent through the practice's email account.
- Google sign-in (optional) — if you choose "Sign in with Google," the practice receives only your basic profile: name and email address. Nothing else is requested, and this data is used solely to create and sign in to your account. The practice never posts, reads mail, or accesses files.
We do not sell or share your personal or health information with anyone for marketing. Information is disclosed only if the law requires it.
Payments
No card numbers touch this website. Payments happen inside your own payment app (Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, PayPal, or similar) — the practice only records who paid, how much, and by which method so your balance is credited.
Cookies
One session cookie keeps you signed in to your account, and your light/dark theme choice is remembered in your browser. That's it — no tracking or advertising cookies.
How Long We Keep It
- Treatment records — retained for at least one year, as required by Florida law for licensed massage therapists.
- Analytics — automatically deleted after 180 days.
- Unused accounts — accounts with no activity for an extended period may be removed after an email warning.
Your Choices
- See it — ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Fix it — ask us to correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete it — ask us to delete your account and data. We'll remove everything except records the law requires us to keep, and we'll tell you which those are.
- Stop texts — withdraw SMS consent anytime by replying or emailing.
For any of these, email MassageByMike92@gmail.com.
Minors
Accounts are for adults. Sessions for minors are booked by a parent or guardian, who provides the required consent and signs the intake on the minor's behalf.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the effective date above will change and significant updates will be noted on this page. Questions about any of it? Get in touch — happy to explain.
